Terms of Service
Legendecks is in pilot. It is an independent project and is not yet a registered company. When we incorporate we will name the company here, and tell you before the change takes effect. Until then the operator of Legendecks is the person you can reach at the address below, and these terms are between you and them.
These terms are the agreement between you and the operator of Legendecks ("Legendecks", "we", "us") covering the Legendecks app, website and related services. By creating an account you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not create an account.
1. Who can use Legendecks
You must be at least 16 years old. If the law where you live sets a higher age for agreeing to terms like these or for consenting to the processing of your data, you must meet that age instead. You confirm your age when you create an account.
One person, one account. You are responsible for everything done through your account and for keeping your password to yourself.
2. Invite codes
During the pilot, an account requires an invite code that we issue. Each code is valid for a single account and stops working once it has been used. Codes are personal to the person we sent them to, are not transferable, and we may withdraw an unused code at any time.
3. What Legendecks does, and what it does not
Legendecks records the cards you own, estimates what they are worth from current public listings, estimates a grade from photographs you take, and suggests actions based on the goal you have chosen.
Listing prices are what sellers are asking, not what cards have sold for. Asking prices typically run above final sale prices, and our estimates carry that limitation.
Every valuation, grade estimate and recommendation is an estimate. A grade estimate is not a grade: only a grading company can grade a card, and its opinion may differ from ours by any margin. A valuation is not an offer, an appraisal, or a promise that a card will sell for that figure.
Legendecks is not financial, investment or tax advice. We are not a broker, dealer, auctioneer or appraiser, we take no cut of any sale you make, and we are not a party to any transaction between you and anyone else. What you buy, sell, grade or keep is your decision and your risk.
3a. Where our numbers come from
Card values shown in Legendecks are derived from current public listings on third-party marketplaces, from published grading-company population reports, and from our own models where live data is unavailable or too thin to rely on. Every figure is labelled with which of these it came from. Listing prices are what sellers are asking, not what cards have sold for, and asking prices typically run above final sale prices. Market data belongs to the sources it comes from and is provided to you for your personal use in valuing your own collection.
4. Your content and your data
Your collection is yours. Photographs you take, the cards you record, what you paid and the notes you write remain yours, and we claim no ownership of them.
You grant us the limited permission we need to run the service for you: to store your content, to process your photographs in order to identify and assess a card, and to display your content back to you on your devices. Legendecks has no public profiles and no social features: nothing you record is visible to anyone else.
What you paid for a card, your profit and your cost basis are never published or shared with anyone.
5. Acceptable use
- Do not attempt to break, overload, probe or reverse engineer the service.
- Do not scrape, resell or redistribute our pricing data or checklists.
- Do not use Legendecks to launder money, to sell counterfeit cards, or for anything unlawful.
- Do not upload photographs you do not have the right to use.
- Do not share, sell or publish an invite code.
6. Availability and changes
Legendecks is under active development. Features may change, and during the pilot the service may be interrupted. We will give reasonable notice of a change that materially reduces what the service does for you.
The pilot is free. If we introduce paid features later, we will say so clearly before anything is charged, and nothing you have already paid for will be taken away without notice.
7. Ending your account
You can delete your account from within the app at any time, and you can download a full copy of your data first. Deleting your account erases your data from our systems, subject to short-lived backups that age out on their own.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that we are legally required to close, or that has been dormant for a long period — in the last case, only after telling you and giving you a chance to export your data.
8. Warranties and liability
Legendecks is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we do not warrant that valuations, grade estimates, recommendations, sales data or checklists are accurate, complete or current, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error free.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost sales, lost data, or the outcome of any buying, selling or grading decision you make, and our total liability to you for any claim connected with the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep every right the law of your country gives you, and nothing here reduces those rights.
9. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms materially, we will tell you in the app and by email before the change takes effect, and ask you to accept the new version. Continuing to use Legendecks after that date means you accept it. Every version is numbered by date, and your account records which version you accepted and when.
10. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the country in which the operator of Legendecks is resident. If you are a consumer, you may also bring proceedings in your own country, and the mandatory consumer protections of your own country apply to you regardless of anything in these terms. When Legendecks is incorporated we will name the governing law and the courts here.
Before going to court, please write to us — most things are quicker to fix that way.
11. Where Legendecks is available
Legendecks is currently available in the United States only. Accounts cannot be created from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland while we complete the data-protection arrangements those regions require. You are welcome to join the waitlist, and we will write when we open where you are.

It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or approved by eBay, Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA), Beckett Grading Services (BGS), SGC, CGC, Mercari, Panini, Topps, Bowman, Upper Deck, Fanatics, The Pokémon Company, the NBA, WNBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, or any other card manufacturer, grading company, marketplace, or sports league.
